Cofounder, Supervisor, & Relational Psychotherapist for Kids/Teens & Families

As a relational therapist and cofounder of Rose Beach Family Therapy, I am committed to enhancing our relational functioning as human beings as a means for building mental and emotional wellness. Placing an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and my understanding of humans’ capacity for resilience and strength, I work closely to join with individuals and families to explore and resolve underlying thoughts and feelings that may be negatively impacting our lives.

After beginning my career working in community-based mental health providing both school and home-based therapy to children and families ages 0 to 16, I am excited to be building a relational wellness center focused on improving mental health through enhancing our relational functioning. In addition to working with children and adolescents, I have had experience working with adults, couples, and adult family systems, particularly those who have struggled with addiction in the family system.

At the present moment, I provide individual and family therapy to children ages 0 to 17, as well as provide clinical supervision for associate marriage and family therapists seeking clinical training and specialization in working with children and families from a relational psychotherapeutic perspective.

LMFT#111269

Cofounder, Supervisor, & Relational Psychotherapist for Adolescents & Adults

Starting my career at a community-based mental health agency, where I worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families, I have learned how early experience could affect a person’s current relational functioning.  My role in therapy is to support clients in raising awareness of how unconscious pattern behaviors relate to unprocessed trauma or negative experiences.  Through diverse cultural perspectives, I work closely with individuals and families to heal from trauma, overcome anxiety and fears, connect with loved ones, and enhance interpersonal functioning.

As an Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) therapist, I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who deal with self esteem, mood, life transition, and relationship issues.  I work from person-centered and existential approaches, which are to utilize therapeutic relationships to support clients in acknowledging freedom and accepting responsibility. I also value family work and systemic approaches, which are to understand the individual in relationship with others, rather than in isolation, to promote self realization.  I am passionate about creating a safe place for my clients to share, explore, and grow.

Since graduate school, Sarah and I started the conversation about building a practice that can raise mental health awareness and provide healing and support.  After years of training and practicing, I am so excited to partner with her to build the relational wellness center.  I am grateful to work with a colleague and friend, who shares the same passion and vision, to do the most valuable work for our clients.

LMFT #150997

Relational Psychotherapist for 0-5/young children, adults, couples, & families.

Transitional times are some of the most challenging, especially shifts in family life. I am passionate about helping new parents cope with the challenges that accompany this change. From working through postpartum depression or anxiety, to mending strained relationships, to navigating shifts in identity, therapy can provide relief for caregivers and in turn strengthen the relationship between parent and child and between partners. I use emotion focused approaches that offer clients a safe and compassionate space to process difficult feelings, allowing for greater understanding and ultimately deeper connections. By utilizing positive psychology and strength based practices, I believe every client already has the capacity to live full and meaningful lives, rich with relational happiness.

My experiences in community mental health continued to show that meaningful connections can alleviate distress and lead to emotional wellness. Ultimately, improving relationships restores balance and leads to more joy with less stress. When we are able to restore secure, meaningful  attachments to our children or to our partners, families and couples can overcome hardships both individually and together. Even further, by finding deeper connections to our inner selves and to our loved ones, we can better withstand the stressors that accompany life. I am excited to help clients discover the full and vibrant lives that are waiting for them, complete with meaningful connections to themselves, to their children, and to their partners.

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist & Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor under the supervision of Sarah Jane Cella Kutrumbos LMFT#105989

Life is filled with constant change – some of which is more manageable than others. Youth, especially, undergo rapid transitions – in the development of the mind and body, relationships, emotions, identity, and attitudes and beliefs. Navigating those transitions can be overwhelming for them, leading to dysfunctional living. At times, youth struggle with these transitions, withdrawing from peers or family, exhibiting defiance, or struggling at school. Youth need to feel seen and heard in order to handle the evolving changes confidently.

My experience working with children and adolescents in schools has taught me the importance of a person-centered approach while incorporating solution-focused practices. I provide a space where clients can feel empowered to explore their feelings without any judgment. I also use goal-setting by creating solutions instead of focusing on problems. I value meeting my clients where they are at, providing encouragement, and utilizing skills by identifying their strengths which they can apply outside of sessions.

I utilize a relational approach to connect with children and adolescents, allowing for authentic and meaningful connections to help bring about any needed change. I also see adult individuals who struggle with similar difficulties navigating life transitions, seeking a space to better understand their thoughts and feelings as a means of feeling more connected to themselves and others. The journey to better oneself is not an easy feat; I am honored to join you.

Relational Psychotherapist for children, teens, individual adults and families

Navigating change, challenging circumstances, and the journey that is growing up can be difficult for us all – especially young individuals. As a therapist with a history of working in community mental health, I’ve fostered my passion for supporting individuals in finding their own path through the chaos, empowering them to identify, connect, and own their true selves in the process. I operate from a place of compassion, empathy, and empowerment through personal education to support kids, teens, and young adults to learn not only how to move through the world, but how to flourish in it.

I utilize evidence-based, humanistic, and trauma-informed lenses to break down the unhelpful thoughts and change behavioral patterns developed early in life while building up one’s ability to communicate, resolve conflict, feel personally empowered, and make healthy decisions.

Through this new way of understanding and relating to our thoughts and managing behaviors, my clients find a sense of stability and self confidence. I provide a safe, exploratory environment where youth can discover the values, motivations, and interests that guide them into their true selves while addressing any behaviors or beliefs that may hold them back.

Relational Psychotherapist for children, teens, individual adults and families

As humans, we experience moments of difficulty. Whether that be navigating personal relationships or witnessing collective community distress, we can feel hopeless, out of control, anxious, grief, and exhausted. These struggles may lead to disconnection in relationships, low motivation, and difficulty focusing. Sometimes it is too much to carry on our own and we need support. As a Queer and Latinx identifying therapist, I offer an inclusive and judgment-free space for children, teens, couples and families to navigate these issues, and am especially passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+, gender expansive, and Latinx communities.

I use a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive approach to understand how intersectional identities and systems impact mental health. By empowering clients to identify, connect with, and own their values, beliefs, and needs, my clients are better able to navigate distress related to systemic injustices and disconnections from self, others, and the world.

I know how scary and vulnerable seeking support can be. As your therapist, I provide a warm and affirming environment that is all yours to feel seen and heard. If you think I could be of help as you begin this journey, email or call me for a consultation.
